The Railway Association of Southern California Scholarship

Since 1996, the Railway Association of Southern California (RASC) has been dedicated to promoting the diverse professions within the railroad industry and sponsoring fellowship among railroad professionals in the Southern California area.

The Railway Association of Southern California (RASC) will once again be awarding two $3,000 scholarships to undergraduate students and three $3,000 scholarships to graduate students for a total of five. The minimum criteria are as follows: 

  • Undergraduate or graduate students who will be enrolled in Spring 2021 at a public or private higher education institution in Southern California (defined as Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, Ventura or San Diego counties) in a degree program which could lead to a career in the rail transportation industry.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Interested in a profession in the rail transportation industry such as engineering, planning, or operations. The scholarships are competitive and based on the applicant's specific involvement in transportation, career goals, and academic record. Note that family of RASC board and scholarship review committee members are not eligible for award.
