Dr. Ellie Kazemi's Robot Research Featured in RobotLab Article

September 28, 2016

Robots like the one featured above are used by Dr. Kazemi and graduate students to simulate child tantrums and other behaviors.

CSUN Professor Ellie Kazemi and her master's students in the Applied Behavior Analysis program are studying the effectiveness of replacing human actors with robots in behavioral research.

Professor Kazemi uses NAO (an autonomous, programmable humanoid robot) to simulate a child with problem behavior in order to find helpful strategies in training caregivers (staff, teachers, etc.) to deal with problem behavior.

Funds for this research were provided by the CSUN College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the National Institute of Health-Build Poder.
