Matt Cahn

Matthew Cahn is Interim Dean in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, where he has been a faculty member since 1991. His research interests include environmental policy and resource management, public policy, and American Government. Dr. Cahn has been involved in several applied policy areas, ranging from transportation issues in metropolitan Los Angeles to the question of marine ecological protected areas in the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary. His publications include Public Policy: The Essential Readings (with Stella Theodoulou), Rethinking California: Politics and Policy in the Golden State (with Eric Schockman and David Shafie), Strategic Planning in Environmental Regulation: A Policy Approach that Works (with Sheldon Kamieniecki and Steve Cohen), and Environmental Deceptions: The Tension between Liberalism and Environmental Policymaking in the United States.
