What is the History Writing Center?
At the History Writing Center, a group of experienced tutors help CSUN undergraduates become more efficient and impactful writers. In each hour-long tutoring appointment, a tutor will help you revise the paper of your choice and teach you valuable writing strategies appropriate to your abilities. Common topics include:
- How to craft an effective thesis
- How to develop a compelling argument before you type a single word
- How to write clear sentences
- And many more
How do I make an appointment?
Take a look at the Appointment Calendar and find an available appointment that fits your schedule. Then contact the history department office or an individual writing tutor to request that appointment.
**If you must cancel your appointment, be sure to give your tutor 24 hours advance notice.

Sessions take place on the sixth floor of Sierra Tower in ST634.
When should I make an appointment?
As early as possible. Appointments become more difficult to obtain as the semester goes on. Also, feel free to make as many appointments as you would like over the course of the semester!
