Welcome to Geography and Environmental Studies!

The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is one of the largest in the nation. During the last forty years, its faculty and students have compiled an enviable record of academic achievement and public service. Because of the size and quality of its faculty, the department can offer prospective students an unusually large array of intellectual opportunities that far exceeds those offered by most other institutions.

It's that time of year again everyone!! Scholarship applications are open for the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies! We are so excited to announce the addition of two new scholarship opportunities for our students. We are introducing The Geospatial Award for $1000 and thanks to a generous donation from an alumnus of our department we have in honor of Pearl Kissel the Pearl Kissel Geography Graduate Scholarship. WE ARE HIRING!! The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies is hiring lecturers for Academic Year 2024/2025.
