Criminology and Justice Studies

Student Success

2020 Commencement

What greater measure of student success than graduation!

The Department of Criminology and Justice Studies is proud of the graduating class and is excited to see what the future holds for these bright and successful students. We wish the students, their families and everyone who supported their collegiate journey a heartfelt thank you and send our best wishes. We invite them all to stay in touch and tell us of their plans. Our contact information is on the CJS home page.

To honor your time with us, CJS has released a video celebrating your success (YouTube video). The video is closed-captioned and we thank those who made it possible. The video has well wishes from several of the CJS faculty and Dept. Chair Dr. Vickie Jensen. There is a message from Dr. Yan D. Searcy, the Dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the announcement of the multiple student awards.

The keynote speech is provided by Mr. Gil Garcetti. Mr. Garcetti, a two term former District Attorney for Los Angeles is not only an accomplished and published photographer, but also a successful contributor to the film industry currently working on his 4th production. Mr. Garcetti is a first generation college student with decades of public service and a commitment to student success.

CHEERS to the CJS graduates and all the CSUN students who graduated in 2020.
