Join us for a discussion related to our book in progress about the anthropology of religion – specifically engaging with the concepts of mysticism, shamanism, and visionary spiritual experience.
We’ll briefly open with a discussion of the challenges in adequately defining these terms in ways that account for cross-cultural diversity in function and experience, and the importance of understanding visionary spiritual experience in contemporary society.
Then, the floor will be opened to the audience for an interactive conversation.
