Africana Studies Week: 2019
The Department of Africana Studies (formally Pan African Studies) has maintained its longevity and productivity through its professors’ fervent dedication to scholarship and service as well as by its students’ strong commitment to learning and student success.
Our theme, “Preserving our Legacy: The Arc of Celebration Continues”, memorializes the 50th anniversary of the department’s existence, while at the same time, substantiates extended accounts of our epic achievement. We celebrate together the sacrifices of those who fought for a Black Studies department and those who continue to advocate for change.
