COVID-19 Vaccination Policy Update | UAW
September 16, 2021
Dear Campus Colleagues:
I am happy to share with you that the CSU has completed the meet and confer process with UAW (Unit 11) for the COVID-19 Vaccination Interim Policy. With this, the CSU COVID-19 Vaccination Interim Policy (as published) is now in full effect for UAW employees.
The Interim Policy requires all UAW employees to self-certify their vaccination status by certifying they are fully vaccinated, need a medical exemption, need a religious exemption, or are not physically coming to campus. Employees may submit their certification in the myNorthridge Portal, under the Policies and Procedures pagelet of the Faculty or Staff tab, by selecting the EE Vaccine Self-Certification link and completing the form accordingly.
For UAW employees requesting an exemption, a medical exemption requires a medical provider’s verification that a COVID-19 vaccine is medically inadvisable and a religious exemption requires an employee to certify their religious belief excludes them from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Employees who request an exemption will be forwarded the applicable verification forms.
UAW employees are required to comply with the Interim Policy as a condition of employment no later than the close of business on September 30, 2021. Employees who do not provide certification may be denied access to campus/programs and will be subject to consequences for noncompliance with this policy.
Please visit Employee COVID-19 Vaccine Information for vaccination information, including how to obtain a copy of your vaccination record or how to schedule a vaccination appointment.
Additionally, unvaccinated employees, until fully vaccinated, or those who request a medical or religious exemption are subject to weekly COVID-19 testing. Please visit COVID-19 Employee Testing for testing information.
Finally, UAW employees may refer to the corresponding fully executed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
For questions please contact 818-677-6566 or employeecovidtesting@csun.edu.
Thank you.
