COVID-19 Employee Vaccination Update | March 5, 2021

Dear Campus Colleagues:

As follow-up to our February 25, 2021 communication, we wanted to share with you that the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is currently distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to Phase 1A, and Phase 1B, Tier 1, which includes Education workers, including higher education.

Scheduling -

You may make appointments through the Los Angeles County website at:

http://publichealth.lacounty.gov/acd/ncorona2019/vaccine/hcwsignup/.

We have heard from many employees they have been successful in scheduling appointments at Pierce College, Magic Mountain, and CSUN through the county site. Additionally, employees have been able to coordinate appointments directly with their local pharmacies such as Walgreens and personal healthcare providers, such as UCLA Health and Kaiser Permanente. We encourage you to explore all options and regularly check the county website as they periodically add new appointments.

Additionally, Northridge Hospital is also offering vaccinations to LA County seniors 65+. Identification with proof of age will be required. This registration is exclusively for those 65 years of age and older and will not be valid for any other categories.

Documents -

Per Los Angeles County, you must bring document(s) to show all three of the following:

1. Photo ID (does not have to be government issued), and
2. Proof that you live or work in LA County (if your other documents do not include your home or work address), and
3. Proof that you work in the education sector. Examples include:

• Work badge with photo
• Professional license
• Payment stub with your name
• A letter of declaration from your employer which includes your name, and the name and address of the employer.

Planning -

We are in continued discussions with county officials and healthcare providers to see how we can streamline vaccine distribution for our employees at the county COVID-19 vaccination site located on our campus. We will provide regular updates as we have more information and in the event of any significant change.

Information on vaccinations changes rapidly, please regularly check the CSUN as One website for the most up to date information.

Faculty and staff who live in different counties, should also check their respective health department website for relevant information.
