COVID-19 Testing: What You Need to Know

April 29, 2020

There are some COVID-19 tests that try to identify pieces of the COVID-19 virus such as measuring antibodies that can hint at exposure to COVID-19. However, these tests cannot yet prove immunity or resistance to the virus.  The information below, provided by LabCorp and Quest Diagnostics, describe details of each test provided by each laboratory.

Students experiencing COVID-like symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath are advised to call us at 818-677-3666 and they will be advised of next best steps. Some cases have also reported patients experiencing symptoms of sore throat, body aches, loss of sense of taste and/or smell, headache, nausea, and gastrointestinal disturbances.

COVID-19 testing at the SHC is limited to currently enrolled students as per their clinician’s medical judgment.
