Led by George Dunne and Doug Yule, the 2018 Fall Field Frolic took students, staff, faculty, and friends of the department on a >1,100 mile journey through California and Nevada tectonics, fossils, and history. Stops included Grover Hot Springs State Park, Lake Tahoe, Dixie Valley, Berlin Ichthyosaur State Park, Death Valley, and Panamint Valley, all while focusing on our understanding of the tectonic history of the region. It was a real treat to have Emeritus faculty George Dunne share his wealth of knowledge with the group! Click here for photos from the trip!
