We are pleased to announce that Department of Geological Sciences Professor Elena Miranda has been hired as a Faculty Equity Advocate for Recruitment and Retention in affiliations with the Office of Faculty Affairs, on a part-time basis, starting in Spring 2021. She will be working with Sylvia Macauley (History) to focus on reviewing CSUN's current recruiting and hiring practices, identifying areas in which we can foster inclusive excellence and equitable outcomes. At the same time, they will consider our retention rates for faculty of color and recommend innovative evidence-based practices that will lead to retaining individuals from underserved groups.
