Home-grown vegetables and herbs are flavorful packets of nutrition, color, aroma, and texture.  Growing them at home is a rewarding endeavor when the basic cultural needs are met.  Master Gardener Yvonne Savio will guide us along the garden path to successful year-round veggie & herb cultivation (with an emphasis on cool-season crops) during this 2 1/2 hour class on Saturday, November 16th, from 10-12:30.  She will also bring plants grown in her home garden to discuss and then share with attendees.

In January, Ms. Savio will follow up with an alphabetical compendium of 60 vegetables and herbs that are well-suited for Southern California gardens. Registration for this class will be announced at a later date.

In her 20+ years as Master Gardener Coordinator for the University ofCalifornia Cooperative Extension in Los Angeles County, Yvonne Savio has shepherded almost 1200 Master Gardeners through the Master Gardener Program.  Having retired in 2015, Yvonne continues to cultivate enlightened gardening through her information-packed www.GardeningInLA.net website.

Registration for this free class is required. To request a space in the class, email botanicgarden@csun.edu. Include your name and the number of seats you are requesting in the email. Driving and parking instructions, as well as the class meeting location, will be sent upon registration.
