The hospitable Mediterranean climate zone provides Southern California gardeners the opportunity to grow a vast array of fruit trees. Due to the many varieties of fruit trees that are available, there is little reason to base one's choice on what is available in grocery stores. On Saturday, March 24th, from 9-11 a.m., Don Hodel will speak on selecting and maintaining fruit trees, and provide practical tips on growing an abundant crop.

Don is the environmental horticulturist for the University of California Cooperative Extension, Los Angeles County, and one of his research interests is the selection and management of landscape trees, shrubs, and groundcovers.

Registration for the free class is required. Please e-mail to request a space in the class or for more information. Driving and parking instructions, as well as the class meeting location, will be sent upon registration.
