Transfer Student: I have applied

Applications will be reviewed in the months following the application deadline. Initial admission decisions will be based on the information you reported on your application, the transcripts that you submit, and the academic qualifications of the applicant pool. Your admission decision will be available in your myNorthridge WebPortal as early as mid-March and thereafter.

  • Create your myNorthridge WebPortal account.
    1. Locate the “Activate CSUN user ID and Password” email sent to you by Admissions & Records after you submitted your application.
    2. Visit the CSUN login page and enter user ID and Password — which are listed in your acknowledgment email — and your birthdate and then click Activate.
    3. Once you select on Activate, an email with a temporary password will be sent to you.
    4. Go back to the CSUN home page and select Log In.
    5. On the Account Authentication screen, enter your myNorthridge ID (which is listed in your acknowledgment email) in the myNorthridge/User Name field and the temporary password that you received in the email (which was sent to you after clicking on Activate).
    6. Select Log In.
  • Check your admission status periodically using myNorthridge WebPortal and keep your personal contact information updated.
  • Check your CSUN email often. If you forward your CSUN Gmail messages to another account, add to your contact list. Email is our primary form of communication to keep in contact with you throughout the admission process.

Send Us Your Transcripts

Your official transcripts are needed to determine your admission eligibility. After you apply for admission, send us official transcripts for all of the following:

  1. Test scores for AP, CLEP or IB exams you may have taken before applying to your previous college (not required but helpful). To order test scores, see:
  2. All courses taken at other colleges and universities previously attended even if the course work was not completed
  3. All college courses in which you are currently enrolled
  4. Your final transcripts for work-in-progress as soon as you complete the courses and grades are posted *

*Students with a verifiable Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) will be admitted only when CSUN receives official transcripts meeting all requirements. All course work must be completed by the end of the spring semester before the fall semester in which you intend to enroll.

All transcripts, preliminary and final, must be official.

  • Electronic transcripts:
    • Electronic transcripts from California community colleges: Please review eTranscript California and use this convenient system.
    • Electronic transcripts from other colleges: In your school’s transcript ordering system, choose “CSU Northridge” as the recipient. If this option is not available, use as the recipient email.
  • Paper transcripts must be received in sealed, unopened envelopes. Ask your previous schools to send your official transcripts directly to us (see "Transcript Deadlines" accordion below).
  • Please do not send identical, duplicate paper and electronic transcripts!
