- Some masters and doctoral degree programs accept applications only for fall — not spring — admission.

- Each master's and doctoral program has its own application deadline. For individual deadlines, contact the program of interest directly, or use the Cal State Apply Application Dates & Deadlines search tool.
- Two (2) applications are often required — one to the university and another to the individual graduate program. Please read Graduate Admissions and contact the program of interest.

Intrasystem Concurrent Enrollment (ICE)
Fall and spring semesters: You must file the ICE application form before the closing date set by the individual graduate program, available in the Cal State Apply Application Dates & Deadlines search tool.

Returning Student Applicant Deadlines
Undergraduate students returning in good standing
- FALL semester admission: Oct. 1 to July 15 (For fall 2023, the Welcome Back Form is due by July 22, 2023.)
- SPRING semester admission: Aug. 1 to Oct. 31
- Returning international applicants have different application deadlines.
Returning undergraduate students who were previously disqualified
- Fall semester admission:
- If disqualified prior to fall 2023, apply for fall 2024 admission no later than Jan. 31, 2024.
- If disqualified at the end of fall 2023, apply for fall 2024 by April 1, 2024. An invitation code is required after Jan. 31, 2024.
- Spring semester admission: Apply from Aug. 1 through Sept. 30.
Returning graduate student application deadlines
- Returning graduate students: Please check closing dates for individual graduate programs in the Cal State Apply Application Dates & Deadlines search tool and on the individual program website.
