Students are expected to attend all class meetings. You can lose the right to be listed on the class roster if you miss the first one or two meetings, depending on the frequency of class meetings per week.
If you are removed from the roster, you must still formally drop the class by following late schedule change procedures and deadlines to avoid a grade of “WU” (Unauthorized Withdrawal), which counts as an “F” in computing GPA.
It is your responsibility to notify the instructor in advance if you must miss the first class meeting. If no instructor is assigned in Class Search, notify the chair of the department offering the course that your absence will be temporary.
