CSUN’s Deaf and LGBTQ Communities Coming Together for “Deaf Queer Coffee” in Pride Center at the University Student Union

WHAT:

The Pride Center of the University Student Union (USU) invites all CSUN students in the LGBTQ community, Deaf community, and their allies to come together for this awesome event, “Deaf Queer Coffee”! Held once a month this semester, Deaf Queer Coffee offers an inclusive evening of fresh coffee, good conversations, tasty snacks, and American Sign Language.

WHO:

Felix Villarreal, Student Pride Center Assistant, is responsible for putting on this event.

WHEN:

Thursdays, Feb. 22, March 15, and April 26 from 7pm to 9pm.

WHERE:

Pride Center, located on the second floor of the Sol Center in the University Student Union.

WHY:

This event brings the Deaf and queer communities as well as their allies closer together in a safe and inclusive environment.

BACKGROUND:

The Pride Center’s “Deaf Queer Coffee” event welcomes everyone who identifies as LGBTQ, Deaf, both or neither to be part of this unique monthly event. All ASL signing levels are invited to attend as well. Fun and inclusive Thursday nights are waiting with delicious snacks, hot coffee, and awesome conversations at “Deaf Queer Coffee”!
