“Beyond The Binary” Celebrates Bisexuality Visibility Day at the University Student Union

Northridge —The Pride Center at the University Student Union (USU) invites all LGBTQ and allied students, faculty and staff to its special event titled “Beyond The Binary” in celebration of Bisexuality Visibility Day. On Thursday, Sept. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Grand Salon at the USU, come listen to the insights of the event’s dynamic keynote speaker - actor, producer, and writer David J. Cork. His presentation will celebrate non-monosexual identities (i.e. bisexuality, pansexuality, fluidity) in a very engaging lecture and film art piece. Admission is FREE. 

 “This event will focus on the fluidity of sexual orientation and it will be a presented in an informative and fun event for all who attend,” said Pride Center Coordinator, Sarina Loeb. “We are happy to have David J. Cork speaking at this special Bisexual Visibility Day event that we believe will inspire the audience to celebrate others’ sexual identities, as well as their own.” 

David J. Cork is best known for his YouTube web series, “Bi”, in which he produces, writes and performs. He will tell the intriguing story of his experiences being bisexual and the intersections of his different identities. Cork will also share a special film presentation that he created especially for the event. 

The event will also feature students who will share their stories and experiences through their own artistic means. Come support these brave individuals in this intimate student performance. Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
