Update on Missing CSUN Student

September 24, 2014

To the CSUN community:

I am writing to update you on a matter that has received media coverage related to the disappearance of Abdullah Alkadi, a CSUN international student. It has now been one week since we learned he was missing.

While there is little information at this time regarding what occurred, the university is concerned with the circumstances of his disappearance. We have been in touch with Mr. Alkadi's family to express our support during this difficult time.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating this matter and will keep the public updated as appropriate. We encourage anyone with information about this matter to contact the LAPD's Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800 or CSUN's Police Services Department at 818-677-2111.

I ask that everyone in the campus community join me in keeping Mr. Alkadi and his family in their thoughts and hoping for his safe homecoming.
