Notice of Hate-Filled Messages on Campus

October 1, 2019

To the CSUN Community:

It is unfortunate to share that, once again, our campus has been targeted by hate.

We learned this morning of hate-filled messages posted on campus. There has been a rise in these types of incidents at universities across the country, particularly in recent weeks. As a campus community, we will not tolerate hate-filled actions against any member of the CSUN family. Out of an abundance of caution, we regret the need to give undue attention to these cowardly individuals.

CSUN Police are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness. While there is no evidence that the campus is at a heightened safety risk, CSUN Police remain vigilant today and always. Remember, if you see something suspicious, let us know by calling 818-677-2111. If circumstances change, we will provide an update.

The fact remains that we will likely face more of these types of hate and attempts to antagonize our campus. We will always take these incidents seriously and prioritize the safety of our campus community.

We all play a role in showing that hate has no place on our campus.

Sincerely,

Dianne F. Harrison, Ph.D.
President

Gregory Murphy
