Message on the Paris Attacks

November 14, 2015

The following message was posted on the front page of the university website:

Friday’s heinous attacks on Paris are attacks on the foundation of society. On behalf of the CSUN community, our hearts and thoughts are with the victims, their families, the first responders and the survivors of the monstrous actions that shook Paris and indeed all of France.

As a university with international connections at many levels, CSUN touches and is touched by every corner of the globe. Fortunately, we have confirmed that CSUN does not have any students currently studying in Paris, and we are in the process of contacting all CSUN students studying in other parts of France. CSUN also has a number of visiting French students who have been reached out to and will be supported in whatever way we can.

France’s motto is one that is closely aligned with U.S. values: liberté, égalité, fraternité or liberty, equality, fraternity. I am confident that these attacks will not stifle the spirit of the French people.
