CSUN activities: Outreach Internship Program

I am a new transfer student, and I am enrolled in several upper-level psychology courses for my bachelor's degree, such as Psychology Pre-Professional Development and Statistical Methods in Psychological Research.

I enjoy the Student Recreation Center and the Oasis Wellness Center. I come from an athletic background, so the Student Recreation Center is a great place to get a good workout and try new activities, such as floor hockey. Of course, my muscles will need some rest after exercising, so I’ll head to the Oasis Wellness Center’s nap pods.

Someday, I hope to become a college counselor. I come from a background of peer counseling/mentoring, and the Outreach Intern position was a perfect supplement to my chosen career and equally beneficial for gaining valuable work experience.

As an Outreach Intern, I am training in information such as CSUN admissions, academic departments, student services and other campus facts and highlights to provide virtual and in-person advice for incoming high school and transfer students. Furthermore, I represent CSUN at virtual college fairs, providing support to outreach counselors and presenting information and answering questions about CSUN. My goal is to welcome and help ease the transition of incoming students so that they feel ready to start their education as Matadors!
