Outreach Intern Julian J. Sims

CSUN OIP intern Julian Sims.

Graduating: June 2027
Major: Business Administration - Marketing
Hometown: Porter Ranch, California

What CSUN activities are you in? If you are not involved yet, what activities do you plan on joining if any?

A couple of CSUN programs that I am currently a part of are the CPED Passport Program which is facilitated by the Nazarian College of Business. I am also getting introduced to The American Marketing Association (AMA), Reach LA Northridge (Reach), and The Advertising Association Federation (AAF).

I am also currently a part of the Young Social Democratic Club (YDSA), the CSUN Cinema Club, and the CSUN Board Game and Table Top Club.

What you like about CSUN?

I like that CSUN is close to home; it makes it easier for me to plan around extracurricular activities and cut down on costs where I can. CSUN is also a campus that I am very familiar with, since I was first introduced to it when I was in elementary school. The school is also home to a myriad of demographics and an intersectionality that leads to a celebrated education environment.

Why did you want to be intern?

I want to be a SOAR Intern because it will help me become a more well-rounded and educated individual. This will not only be a great opportunity to learn more about the massive community and culture of the San Fernando valley, but also to learn more about how CSUN plays a crucial role in supporting the community.

What are your future goals after graduation?

My future goal is to become a marketing director or possibly even become a creative director for an advertising and marketing department (thinking about joining ATLUS, Square Enix, or Bandai Namco). I want to bring joy to the world in the shape of excitement and bring something to look forward to. Along with giving the community something that they would heavily enjoy.
