Supportive Measures
Supportive Measures
The Office of Equity and Compliance (OEC) can coordinate supportive measures for anyone who has experienced an incident that may violate the nondiscrimination policy.
These are:
- Non-disciplinary, non-punitive;
- Individualized; and
- Put in place to maintain equitable access to the work or educational environment.
For example, OEC can coordinate:
- Deadline extensions or other course work related adjustments
- Modifications of work or class schedules
- No contact directives
- Leaves of absence
- Changes in work or housing locations
Supportive Measures for Pregnancy and Pregnancy-Related Conditions
CSUN is committed to promoting a family-friendly environment by providing programs and services to help students and employees achieve success at the university and in their personal lives. Students who are pregnant, lactating, or experiencing pregnancy-related conditions can request supportive measures to ensure they are able to maintain equitable access to the educational environment. Supportive measures for pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions are on a case-by-case basis, must be reasonable, and cannot fundamentally change the nature of a course.
Pregnant and lactating students, faculty and staff and those experiencing pregnancy-related conditions are protected under our CSU Nondiscrimination Policy. If you have any questions or concerns relative to supportive measures, please contact the Title IX Coordinator in the Office of Equity and Compliance at 818-677-2077 or equityandcompliance@csun.edu.
What does pregnancy or pregnancy-related condition mean?
- Pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, or lactation;
- Medical conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, or lactation; or
- Recovery from pregnancy, childbirth, termination of pregnancy, lactation, or related medical conditions.
