New Student Convocation - RSVP
Greetings - Thank you for your interest in attending this year's New Student Convocation. Logistics below include information for those attending as a Platform Party, Staff, and/or Faculty.
Information for PLATFORM PARTY MEMBERS (President, Extended Cabinet, College Deans, Alumni President and AS President)
Platform party members can begin to arrive at 5:00 p.m. in Oviatt Library, Room 102c (just to the left as you enter the Library).
Platform Party Walk-Through: A walk-through for the Convocation Platform Party processional will be conducted at 5:45 p.m. on the day of the event. Light refreshments will be available.
Platform Party Processional: We ask that you remain in Oviatt 102c or the Library Lobby for Platform Party line-up at 5:50 p.m.
Information for FACULTY, STAFF, & ADMINISTRATORS:
Faculty, Staff, & Administrators not on the platform can begin to arrive at 5:00 p.m. in the Donald E. Bianchi Planetarium for faculty/staff line-up at 5:55 p.m.
Upon arrival, please identify yourself to staff who are present so they can have you walk in the line accordingly.
Associate Deans: We ask that you serve as Marshals for the Processional. Please identify yourself to staff who are present so they can have you walk in the line accordingly. You will lead the line from the Planetarium to the Oviatt Lawn using the campus Mini-maces available.
Department Chairs/Program Coordinators: We ask that you march in the front of the processional, just behind the Associate Dean Marshals, symbolically representing all of the campus departments and programs.
Student Affairs and Academic Affairs Administrative Leadership: We ask that you march in the front of the processional directly behind the department chairs symbolically representing all of the campus departments and administrative offices.
Faculty and Staff: If you are wearing regalia, we ask that you join the procession immediately behind the various administrators listed aboce. If you are not wearing regalia, you may either join the procession or march in with the new students.
All are welcome to the reception immediately following the program on the Oviatt Library Portico where you will have a chance to meet and greet with the new students. Refreshments and entertainment will be provided.
Please complete the form below to RSVP to New Student Convocation. If you have your own regalia, we will connect with your office to pick it prior to the event. If you need regalia, you will have an option to make a request in the RSVP form. *Please note caps/tams will not be worn at the ceremony.
