Exiled from Zamosc, Survival in the Far-Off Lands

Gerson interviewed people along the way, meeting fascinating people in the most out-of-the-way places imaginable and using her talents as journalist to get the story. She followed leads even when they led to dead ends, finding people who knew something – anything – or knew someone who might have known something. Gerson is an Associate Professor of Journalism at California State University Northridge and also the daughter of a prominent journalist. Her mother Joan Nathan – no less talented than her father – is a renowned food writer, whose cookbooks grace many a Jewish home, including mine.
