This company’s surveillance tech makes immigrants ‘easy pickings’ for Trump

The company lobbied to expand the surveillance, said Jason Morín, a political science professor at California State University, Northridge, who studies Geo Group. Ahead of the 2024 election, a Geo Group subsidiary gave more than $2 million in campaign contributions to Republican candidates, with the bulk going to groups supporting Trump and those running for Congress, according to Federal Election Commission records.
