Jeannine earned her B.A. cum laude in history with a minor in mathematics from California State University, Northridge, and Master’s Degree in history from the same institution. She put her training in research to work as a real estate land title abstractor for the law firm of Whitehead and McCoy, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, after her graduation. Her mother’s family has been in Natchitoches since its founding in 1714. She has proven her lineage back to Angelique, a Native American who married Charles Dumont, one of the French explorers that founded the town.
