The University Corporation - Facilities and Locations

Student Film Shoots

The CSUN campus is home to a variety of unique locations that are available for student productions. Whether you are a CSUN CTVA student or a film student from another university, the University Licensing office is committed to supporting student filmmakers to succeed in their academic endeavors.

In order for minimal disruption to the university’s academic programs and activities, we recommend film shoots be conducted on off-peak times such as weekends or early morning/evenings. Please also note certain restrictions on time and location will apply depending on the location and especially in high traffic areas on campus. To help us best serve your location needs, before contacting University Licensing, please be sure you contact us at least one week prior to your desired shoot date so we may have ample time to reserve your location and assign a site rep (when required). Please select your student type to view instructions on how to submit your location request.

To ensure there is enough time to schedule your film shoot, we suggest reaching out to the Licensing department at least 5 business days from your desired shoot date. This will allow time for the Licensing department to reserve your space, send out campus notifications of your film shoot and schedule a site rep/liaison (as needed).
