Tennessen has been with the sheriff’s office for 19 years, most recently managing patrol operations for the East County/Thousand Oaks station. He has an extensive background in investigations and has worked in the gang unit, the major crimes bureau and the special crimes unit. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a master’s in public administration from CSU Northridge.
