Dr. Raymond (Ray) McHugh, a resident of San Carlos, passed away peacefully aged 96. Ray was a professor at California State University Northridge (CSUN) from 1963 to 1992, in the Department of Secondary Education. He taught a generation of college students how to be good history teachers, and he co-wrote a U.S. history textbook, Quest For Liberty. Ray is remembered for his optimism and gentle, quirky sense of humor.
