Richard Layton — In his words, “Within five minutes of meeting you, I’ll have mentioned I’m a Californian, a songwriter and a guitar player.” He’s a graduate of California State University, Northridge (1991) and the University of Washington (1993, 1995). Since 2000, he has taught in the mechanical engineering department at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. “When I’m not teaching, grading, graphing, cooking, reading, sleeping or being trained by my cats to serve,” he adds, “I can usually be found at my local coffee house, or anywhere else I can borrow a guitar, singing and rousing the rabble.”
