A: I started in the financial industry as a loan officer when I was 18. I had two jobs and was going to college at Cal State Northridge. I worked as a loan officer at a credit union and was a mortgage broker. I loved it. I was a young college kid making huge commissions. Then in 2007, it all came to a crashing halt. The credit union I was working for was closing a majority of their branches and was on the brink of collapse. My branch closed.
