Elizabeth A. Say is the Dean of the College of Humanities at California State University Northridge. As Dean, she provides leadership to a faculty and staff of over 400 persons in nine departments as well as five interdisciplinary programs. Previously, Say was the Associate Dean of Humanities, Professor and founding Chair of the Department of Women's Studies, and a faculty member in the Department of Religious Studies at CSUN. She holds a Ph.D. in Religious Social Ethics from the University of Southern California.
Say's research and publications are in the areas of women and religion, gay and lesbian studies, and academic administration. She is co-editor with Mary Anne Fitzpatrick of The History and Future of Liberal Arts Education: From the Desk of the Dean (forthcoming Spring 2017). She has held leadership roles in the American Academy of Religion, the National Women's Studies Association, and the Western Commission on the Study of Religion. Say is currently the President of the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences (CCAS), the largest association of deans of colleges of arts and sciences.
