BHP Student Spotlights

Congratulations to BHP Management and Marketing major, Jessica Puzon who has been selected to receive the Dean’s Scholarship for the fall 2020/spring 2021 semesters. This scholarship recognizes students of excellence, both in terms of life experiences and academics, in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics.

Congratulations, Jessica!

Hayden Warlick, BHP Economics major, Hayden Warlick offered a full-time position in Washington D.C. area. Hayden Warlick began his studies at Pierce College, where he majored in Marketing and discovered his interest in National Politics. Upon transferring to CSUN, he decided to major in Economics and entered into the Business Honors Program. What stood out to Hayden about the Business Honors Program is the challenge it offered to its students. Hayden notes that he enjoys being around like-minded, ambitious peers, and appreciates the curriculum offered through BHP. Through this curriculum, Hayden has developed relationships with his professors, one of whom referred Hayden to the Mercatus Center at George Mason University near Washington D.C. It is with the Mercatus Center that Hayden was able to secure a Summer Internship and has subsequently been offered a full-time position as a Research Associate upon graduation this December. Hayden is excitedly anticipating the start of his new career on the East Coast.

Congratulations, Hayden!

Business Honors Program and Systems and Operations Management major, Lauryn Lawton, offered a full-time position with Amazon upon graduating this coming Spring 2020

Lauryn Lawton began her college career at College of the Canyons before transferring to CSUN and majoring in Systems and Operations Management. As a proud Business Honors Program student, Lauryn partnered with other BH students, faculty, and staff to create a video that shares BH student experiences and some of the offerings of the Business Honors Program. The new video may be viewed here. During her first semester at CSUN, she attended the Industry Night career fair where she was able to meet with Amazon recruiters. After the interview process, she was later offered an internship this past summer to be an Area Manager in an Amazon Fulfillment Center in Southern California.

The Area Manager position allowed her to manage 100+ front-line fulfillment associates throughout the Pack and Ship Dock departments as the building worked to send out Amazon.com customer orders. The management position consists of staffing associates according to the flow of products, managing the flow of products, providing associates with feedback to help them with their performance, and implementing process improvement projects. After graduation in Spring 2020, Lauryn will continue her operations career at Amazon as an Area Manager in Southern California."
