Ardavan Asef-Vaziri
Ardavan Asef-Vaziri is a professor at the Department of Systems and Operations Management. Asef's research revolves around applications of optimization, simulation, and data analytics in facility logistics, freight transportation, and process flows. The central theme of his teaching and research is how to create a streamlined and smooth flow in manufacturing, distribution, service, and educational systems. His publications have appeared in EJOR, IISE-Transactions, Computers & Operations Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and International Journal of Production Economics, among others. In 2008, he was recognized as a CSUN Research Fellow. Dr. Asef-Vaziri was among the first to adopt the flipped classroom course delivery format starting in 2010. Professor Asef-Vaziri has a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Sharif (ex Arya Mehr) University of Technology, University of Southern California, and University of Toronto, respectively.
