California State University, Northridge students are not immune to issues of financial hardship and food insecurity; however, there are free resources on campus for when Matadors find themselves in need.
CSUN Food Pantry
Open to all CSUN students, the CSUN Food Pantry provides no-cost emergency nourishment, basic necessities and support to those facing food insecurity.
The MataCare Grant was established to provide emergency funding in cases of unexpected, urgent financial need, such as vehicle repair, child care or rent. Open to all enrolled CSUN students in good standing, the MataCare Grant is funded through generous contributions from alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the university who want to assist with removing unanticipated financial roadblocks to student degree completion and well-being. The grant is not a loan and does not need to be repaid.
