Starting in 2016, Associated Students has introduced Zimride by Enterprise, a free online ride-matching service exclusively for CSUN. Log in to the secure online environment to find friends, classmates and coworkers going where you are, whether it’s for a daily commute, road trip or one-time event. Both drivers and passengers can save money and help reduce carbon emissions.

There are various public transportation options to and from CSUN. The Antelope Valley Transit Authority, Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) and Metro provide direct service to campus. Buses pick up and drop off at the CSUN transit station on Etiwanda Avenue and Vincennes Street.
Planning to ride Metro frequently? Follow Metro’s Twitter account for the most up-to-date information about delays or street closures.
If you are an enrolled undergraduate student with eight or more units or a graduate student with six or more units, Metro U-Pass can upgrade your existing student ID to a reduced-fare transit pass. Register via the myNorthridge Portal to obtain a sticker with smart-chip technology to place on your card. It works just like Metro’s TAP (Transit Access Pass) and it’s good for unlimited rides on all Metro rail and bus lines for an entire semester. It’s also valid on the other 23 transit systems that accept TAP throughout Los Angeles County. For more information, visit the Associated Students Ticket Office.
CSUN runs a Metrolink shuttle between campus and the Northridge Metrolink Station for student commuters. Morning shuttles pick up riders at the Metrolink train station and drops them off at the CSUN transit station on Etiwanda Avenue and Vincennes Street. Afternoon shuttles pick up at the CSUN transit station and the University Student Union on Lindley Avenue. The shuttle arrives at the CSUN transit station about 30 minutes before train departure times and at the University Student Union about 25 minutes before. Check the Metrolink website for train schedules. To travel to or from the Northridge Metrolink Station outside of shuttle operating hours take the LADOT DASH bus.
