Ron Borczon Wins Music Therapy Award

Professor Ron Borczon was awarded the Publications Award at the Regional Conference of the Western Region Music Therapy Association. His publications include two text books and book on how guitar playing relates to life, chapters in three music therapy texts and numerous articles.  He has also published arrangements made for two guitars in the Guitar Foundation of America periodical, Soundboard.  Professor Borczon is the Chair of the Music Therapy program and Director of the CSUN Music Therapy Wellness Clinic. He is also on the guitar faculty. Read more

Piano Faculty win Lifetime Achievement Awards

The Music Teachers National Association, and its state affiliate, the California Association of Professional Music Teachers have announced that CSUN Piano Faculty, Edward Francis and John Perry, have been awarded the National Distinguished Service and State Lifetime Achievement Awards for 2015. CSUN String Players Win Positions in American Youth Symphony

The first violinist of CSUN's Honors Quartet, Shawn Cai, was successful in winning a violin position with the American Youth Symphony. Bassists, David Bowman and Freddy Hernandez, were also successful in winning regular positions this season, representing CSUN in one of the top orchestras in Los Angeles. Read more

A group from CSU Northridge Jazz, the Interstellar Quintet, won 1st Place at the Angel City Young Artists Jazz Festival in September performing at the popular Los Angeles based jazz hub, "Blue Whale"
