Liviu Marinescu Album with Nimbus Ensemble

In 2015, CSUN Music faculty Liviu Marinescu received an award from the American Composers Forum for his composition Shadows for piano and electronics.  The composition was performed at the 40th Anniversary Gala Concert held at the Landmark Center of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Recently Centaur Records has released a compact disc with compositions by Marinescu, featuring the Nimbus Ensemble.  The album brings together a wide range of works written between 2008 and 2013 for chamber orchestra, solo instruments with electronics, and chamber ensemble. Works from the new CD have been performed throughout the U.S., Portugal, Romania, Brazil, and Mexico, and presented in lectures at University of Aveiro (Portugal), Palacky University (Czech Republic), Bucharest National University of Music (Romania), Chapman University and Los Angeles City College. A recording of Shadows, included on this CD, is available on YouTube.
