Alexandra Monchick holds a Bachelor of Musical Arts from The University of Michigan and a Doctorate in Historical Musicology from Harvard. She has published articles and reviews in German Life and LettersThe Journal of Music History Pedagogy, The Musical Quarterly, and German Studies Review, and has a forthcoming chapter in the Oxford Handbook of Spectral and Post-Spectral Music. Professor Monchick's work interests include twentieth-century opera, silent film, and the music of Paul Hindemith. She currently serves as president of the Pacific Southwest Chapter of the American Musicological Society.
