
Biography
Composer/Orchestrator William V. Malpede holds a Graduate Certificate in Film Scoring from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business from Elmhurst College, Illinois. As a multi-keyboardist, William has performed with numerous National Broadway tours including CATS, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT (starring Donny Osmond), MUSIC OF THE NIGHT (starring Melissa Manchester), MAMMA MIA!, 9 TO 5, and THE DROWSY CHAPERONE. William has served as synthesizer programmer and technical assistant on such films as URBAN LEGEND, RUNAWAY JURY, and SPIDERMAN 3. His original scores include ANGELS DON’T SLEEP HERE, DOG GONE LOVE, CRUSADE: A MARCH THROUGH TIME, and GUYS ‘N DIVAS. As a songwriter and producer, William has co-written songs and recorded music for THE INTERPRETER, DOMINO, BANGKOK DANGEROUS, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, and the upcoming animated feature, RANGO. He has recently co-scored (with Rick Garcia) the feature film, ANOTHER HARVEST MOON (2011) starring Ernest Borgnine and Doris Roberts, for which he and Mr. Garcia won the Best Original Score Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. Currently, William is a part-time professor of Music in Film at California State University, Northridge.
