Agency398's Semester of Success

May 20, 2022

Agency398’s creative group of trained and experienced students worked with both new and returning clients this semester. Spring 2022 Agency398 clients included The CSUN Autonomy Research Center for STEAHM, Independent 88.5 FM, Ernie Fields Legacy Book Project, North Valley Caring Services, CSUN’s Faculty Development team and Agency398 itself. Since the beginning of the semester, each team has worked closely with its clients to create solid public relations plans, develop social media growth strategies, plan events and more.

Agency398’s brand team redesigned the brand's look on all social media platforms to increase client and student interest. The current website has been given an entirely new look and features new pages, such as the Meet The Team page, where you can see all team members in Agency398. The social media posts provide information on the latest blog posts from students in the agency and videos of team members introducing themselves.

“The three main goals this semester has been promoting the success Agency398 has had with clients in the past, showcasing the creative minds of our current students via social media, and making Agency398 as a whole more well known,” said social media manager Itzel Mendoza.

The Independent 88.5 FM team promoted the campus radio station’s 24-hour celebration special for International Women’s Day. The “Wonder Women across Social Media” special featured female musicians for 24 hours. The team also recently promoted its KCSN 88.5 FM booth, as part of President Erika D. Beck’s Investiture Kickback event on March 14. The team also worked at the booth during the event.

At the same time, Agency398’s ARCS team was promoting the third annual April 7 Lift Off event, featuring panels involving women in STEAHM, inclusion and diversity topics, project demonstrations along with additional guest speakers. The team also helped continue ARCS’ social media and blog series, “Student Spotlight,” featuring story profiles of students who have participated in ARCS to showcase their research projects.

The Ernie Field’s Legacy book team used social media tactics as part of its campaign to help promote Carmen Field’s new book about her father, renowned jazz musician Ernie Fields.

Other projects included the California State University, Northridge’s Faculty Development team. Its staff focused on social media to bring awareness about Fac Dev’s programs and toolkit by promoting past and current faculty work and projects on Instagram and Facebook.

The North Valley Caring Services team recently helped plan and create invitations for its clients’ donor breakfast. The team has also helped increase the organization’s social media engagement to create a strong community with followers.

Agency398 is a California State University Northridge student-run public relations practicum.
