Biography

Erik Boccio is an award-winning filmmaker, based in Los Angeles, CA. His short films have garnered millions of views worldwide between web, festival and television airtime. He has achieved top prize in numerous festivals including "Best Horror", "Best Comedy", "Best Music Video", "Audience Choice" & “Best Kill”. His career began in New York City, directing & editing dozens of music videos, airing on MTV, FUSE, & BET as well as on countless websites. Boccio was the co-creator of Weirdfellas on Funny or Die, shooting & directing over 30 sketch comedy shorts. Several of his films were acquired by Direct TV Shorts Channel for their 2018-19 lineup.

Boccio has also worked in camera & lighting for MTV, VH1, SPIKE, CBS, ABC, FOX, HUFF POST, etc. Most recently, he served as Lighting Director for the highly rated MTV series, “Floribama Shore”. As a Cinematographer, he has been behind the lens for numerous projects, filmed in some of the most perilous locations around the globe; such as the Amazon Rain Forest, the immense jungles of South East Asia, and atop snow covered peaks at the highest elevation in the U.S.

Boccio received an MFA in Television, Film & Theater from Cal State University Los Angeles and a BA in Media Study from State University of New York at Buffalo.
