Annual Juried Art Student Exhibition

It's that time of year again, for the Annual Juried Art Student Exhibition!!!! Because of everything going on with virtual instruction this year’s exhibition will look a little different. We are going to have it online via our website, and each work will be posted individually on our social media platforms Instagram and Facebook.

Please know the form will not save automatically, so you will need to complete your entry in one sitting, and you can only submit it once.

This Year's Jurors:

Submission dates: Now through March 19th at 5pm

Students can include work from Fall 19 – Spring 21 (currently enrolled students can include work from last year since last year’s exhibition was canceled, this is a one-time exception)

Acceptance emails will be sent out and results posted to the CSUN Art Galleries Facebook on March 29th

Awards Reception on April 9th at 5pm

Artwork Submission Guidelines: 

(PLEASE READ CAREFULLY) If you have any questions please email: erika.ostrander@csun.edu   

  1. Please submit 1-3 well documented pieces roughly 2100 pixels wide x 2700 pixels high @ 72dpi .jpg RGB image files. For time-based media File should be no larger than 100 MB if uploaded to this form. You may also upload a word document that contains a box.com link for your image or media. If uploading a word document please also include label information with the Title material/medium, size and year for the work. If you have any questions please reach out to Erika Ostrander at erika.ostrander@csun.edu
  2. Please use the following file labeling: LastName_FirstName_2020_01, LastName_FirstName_2020_02, LastName_FirstName_2020_03. 
  3. For time-based media please note if your work is accepted into the exhibition you will be required to send Erika a 60 second clip of your video file for social media. More details will be sent at the time of acceptance.  
  4. Each submission requires a short text for the visually impaired, 1-3 sentences long. please see the link below to help you write these descriptive text. Submissions will not be accepted without the text for the visually impaired. If you have questions please email erika.ostrander@csun.edu

Virginia A. Orndorff Prize Scholarship

Thanks to a very generous gift from CSUN alumna Virginia Orndorff and her husband Christopher, the Virginia A. Orndorff Prize is a scholarship awarded to three students based on this application, artist statement, and artwork submitted for inclusion in the Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition. The Department of Art Scholarship Committee reviews the materials and selects the three Orndorff Prize recipients.  

As this is a scholarship, the Orndorff Prize is credited to the student’s account with the university for the following academic year. If a winner is graduating in May, the student shall receive a check barring any outstanding debt owed the university.

Orndorff Prize amounts include:

1st: $5,000

2nd: $2,000

3rd: $1,000
