Unified We Serve is proudly holding a Letter Writing Campaign for our Veterans and First Responders in collaboration with the CSUN Veterans Resource Center and Operation Gratitude.
- The CSUN Veterans Resource Center assists CSUN students as they transition from military service to academic success.
- Operation Gratitude proudly delivers Care Packages to deployed troops, first responders, military families, recruit graduates, veterans, wounded heroes and caregivers.
Register today to collect service hours and have the chance to win prizes while giving back to the community. The final day to register is Thursday, November 17th and all cards must be submitted in the MIC by Friday, November 18th
Rules
YOU CAN WRITE TO:
- VETERANS (DEPLOYEDTROOP,WOUNDED, ILLANDINJURED HEROESAND THEIR CAREGIVERS,AND RECRUIT GRADUATES)
- FIRST RESPONDERS (LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRE, EMS, HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS).
WRITING GUIDE:
- Start with a salutation (Dear Hero, Dear Service Member, Dear First Responder)
- Share a little about yourself: hobbies, work, school, pets, travel
- Express your gratitude for their selfless service
- Can't find the words? Consider drawing (add a note with kids' drawings)
Keep in mind:
- Do not mark the date on letters (takes time to be received)
- Avoid glitter!
- Avoid politics completely
- Avoid religion in excess (can mention praying for them)
- Adults may include email address so the recipient can reply.
- Children can ONLY use first name

- First Place: $150 Pizza Gift Card
- Second Place: $100 Pizza Gift Card
- Third Place: $50 Pizza Gift Card

- 3 cards per person [2 for Veterans & 1 for First Responders]
- Groups must be university recognized [registered on Matasync]
