Ongoing Workshops

 The Whole Body Whole Health (WBWH) program is here to make cancer education and support services widely accessible to individuals affected by cancer.

 

 Thrive with Diabetes is our online diabetes management program that teaches you how to properly manage your diabetes through a number of avenues.

 

PreventT2 is for individuals living with pre-diabetes or are at-risk for developing diabetes.

 

Healthy Growers Training is a four week course that covers the basics of organic and regenerative vegetable gardening.

Resources

WIC is a nutrition program that helps pregnant women, mothers with infants and young children eat well, be active, and stay healthy.

Special Announcement

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Magaram on August 22, 2021. The Marilyn Magaram Center was established by Phil and his family in 1991 as a tribute and memorial to Marilyn, who was an alumna and faculty of CSUN.

I was diagnosed with prediabetes in August. I had some routine blood work done, and my hemoglobin A1C levels came in at 5.8, which meant that in the past three months, my blood sugar levels were high enough to put me on the pipeline to type 2 diabetes. I was scared of a future in which I wouldn’t be able to eat my favorite foods, and one where I would add routine blood testing to my daily life. Read more

As the Holiday Season begins and the semester draws to a close, the Marilyn Magaram Center (MMC) has so much to celebrate and be grateful for!

The Center has been a dream come true for so many people since it was first envisioned by our founders, the Magarams; and our founding director, Dr. Tom Chen.  It has been an honor for me to start as a student and an MMC intern when it was dedicated in 1991, and serve as Faculty Advisory Board Member, Internship Coordinator, Associate Director and Executive Director.  Read more
