The Marilyn Magaram Center has transitioned to hybrid operations in compliance with CSUN’s COVID-19 measures, with modifications to our schedule as follows:

Virtual operations:
Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm

Open to the public:
Monday 8:30am-12:30pm
Tuesday 8:30am-4:30pm
Wednesday 8:30am-4:30pm
Thursday 8:30am-12:30pm
Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Office hours are subject to change. If you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please contact us at magaram.center@csun.edu or 818-677-3102. We will communicate updates through our site, MMC Virtual Events, and our social media platforms according to the latest available information. Special Announcement

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Magaram on August 22, 2021. The Marilyn Magaram Center was established by Phil and his family in 1991 as a tribute and memorial to Marilyn, who was an alumna and faculty of CSUN. 

Ongoing Workshops

 

 Thrive with Diabetes is our free online diabetes management program that teaches you how to properly manage your diabetes through a number of avenues.

 

PreventT2 is for individuals living with pre-diabetes or are at-risk for developing diabetes.

Summer 2022 Director's Message

The sun is shining and leaves are growing in our new expanded garden area of the Sequoia Hall exterior courtyard. We have installed ZipGrow hydroponic towers, and have collaborated with LA Urban Farms to grow our antioxidant research project and produce additional produce in a variety of agricultural systems.

“Sprouting at Schools” (SpAS) is an in-person curriculum for 4th-6th graders about nutrition and gardening, created through the Marilyn Magaram Center (MMC) at California State University, Northridge collaboration with MMC/BuildPoder Research Assistant Alondra Valdez. This program is Kaiser Permanente-funded under MMC’s “Let’s Cook, Move, and Grow/Let’s Grow Healthy” programs.
